A dedicated QMM section of titles from our Library is now on display at Queenscliffe Library. The complete QMM Library Catalogue is also available on-line via the Geelong Regional Libraries Corporation website. Queenscliffe Maritime Museum will again celebrate International Lighthouse Weekend on August 18 & 19, 2018 The event is conducted at Point Lonsdale Lighthouse in conjunction with Geelong Amateur Radio Club members. Point Lonsdale Lighthouse will be open for guided tours on Saturday and Sunday plus a flag raising ceremony and Foghorn soundings. Call 0490 550

As always, this event takes place in the Queenscliffe Maritime Museum Boatshed, amongst historic boats and boat building tools. Refreshments will be available – nibbles, and drinks at Bar prices. On Saturday 29 & Sunday 30 September the skills of model boat makers will be on display in the Queenscliffe Maritime Museum. The launch of  Lorraine de Kleeuver’s new children’s book Trouble at ‘Joanna Shipwreck’ was a great success! Pictured here are some of the participants and the relics from the shipwreck ‘Joanna’ that were loaned to us by Heritage Victoria and displayed in the museum.

Several of our treasured volunteers recently enjoyed a bbq as a chance to say thank you and to mingle with fellow volunteers. We were also joined by our next door ‘neighbours’ – the crew working on the restoration of the “Margaret Pearl” – a project we have all been watching with great interest.
